Hire in Oceania: 2 country guides and EOR rankings
Every guide below lists what an employer pays on top of salary, what the EOR providers charge, how long the first contract takes and which providers rank best for that country. Same fields on every page, so you can compare two countries line by line.

Employer costs in Oceania, country by country
Contributions as a share of gross salary, the EOR fee per employee per month as published by the providers, and the time to the first contract once the documents are in. Each row links to the full guide and to the ranking.
What changes when you hire in Australia and New Zealand
The 2 guides in Oceania put employer contributions between 4% (New Zealand) and 18% (Australia) on top of gross salary. Published EOR fees run from $400 to $700 per employee per month, before any setup fee.
Two countries with the same language and very different payslips. Australia stacks superannuation (12% from July 2025), state payroll tax above a threshold and workers' compensation to an employer on-cost of 15 to 18%, and in Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and the ACT an EOR must hold a labour-hire licence to supply the worker at all: ask for the licence number in the state of hire. New Zealand sits at 4 to 6% (KiwiSaver at 3%, the ACC levy), has no labour-hire licensing and allows a 90-day trial period in every employment agreement since December 2023. Both countries pay fortnightly as often as monthly, so check which cycle the provider runs before you promise one to the hire.
